GreenGeeks Review
GreenGeeks is one of the very few hosting companies that focus on clean energy hosting from the very beginning. Although the hosting company is new in the industry, its CEO Trey Gardner has over 10 years of experience in web hosting industry.

What I think about GreenGeeks Hosting?
It’s been a while since I started checking on GreenGeeks and the company is now one of the top names in green web hosting industry. The company is winning awards after awards; and not long ago, GreenGeeks is choosen as the official web host for Drupal users in the ‘Drupal for Dummies’ guide book. Frankly I am not surprise to see GreenGeeks achieved their success in such a short time – afterall the company is lead by a successful icon in the hosting industry.

What’s good about GreenGeeks?
Without wasting more time, let’s check out some of the pros and cons of GreenGeeks hosting.
Just like most shared hosting providers, Green Geeks provide all the features you need to host a small-to-medium website.
Unlimited bandwidth and disk storage, one-click web apps installation supported with Fantastico, and a huge list of supported e-commerce features. Things seems pretty standard here with Green Geeks – which is a good thing as this means you can get whatever you got from other web host, in CLEAN energy.
At Green Geeks, all customer’s websites are 300% green. I repeat, not 100, or 200, it’s 300%!
How is this possible? Well, the company replaces, with wind power, 3 times the amount of energy consumed by their web servers. I was skeptical about all these ‘green achievements’ in the beginning but after checking on a recent certification (see below), I determined that the company just purchased over 2.3 million MW of clean, renewable energy in March 2009.
With that, there’s no doubt Green Geeks is the ‘green-est’ hosting in the market.
Another thing I like about GreenGeeks is the ‘safety’ I get when hosting with them. According to the officials, GreenGeeks servers are built on Intel Dual Quad Core servers with RAID-10 array technology; plus, GreenGeeks servers are backup daily.
This gives me peace of mind and I have no worries about the ‘what-if’ issues.
GreenGeeks is not the cheapest hosting you can get online but given the fact that they are 300% green, I would say the hosting company is charging a reasonable price. What makes thing interesting is that I was able to get in touch with Trey (via this interview) and got a special discount for all my readers. What might goes bad with GreenGeeks hosting?
Being New – Lack of business reputation in long term
From what I see the only problem with GreenGeeks is new. The company has just started business for less than 3 years and I believe everything is not very stable at the backstage. I do have strong faith in Trey that he will leads the company to a greater height but there’s just too little trackable record for me to rate GreenGeeks a strong A+.
GreenGeeks Customers Reviews
Well, it’s now time to check out some other users’ comment about GreenGeeks. Here are some of the GreenGeeks reviews I found from the Internet (to be honest, I’m very surprise to read so many positive reviews on a new company like GreenGeeks – these guys are really up to something!).
Go above and beyond! "I was in a bind with my previous web hosting company and I needed to migrate quickly to a better host. I thought I would give GreenGeeks a try and I am very glad I chose them. They made it very easy for me to move over, they did it all for me! Since moving over to GreenGeeks, the service I have received is a stark difference between my old host… like day and night! The geeks are always there whenever I need them and they take their time to describe and walk through problems. Simply outstanding. GreenGeeks is the only host you need for your site!" –
Great Reseller Host! "I signed up to their reseller program a few months ago, the sign up process was pretty seamless. They had to verify the account, which I can understand considering all the fraud that is on the Internet. I got my details within a few minutes after the call. I have about 50 sites hosted under my reseller account, of which about half of them I had them transfer for me from one of their competitors. The sites stay up, technical support is quick and friendly and overall great service. If you’re looking for a good host to host your customers, then these guys are the right choice for you." –
GreenGeeks is GRAND! "I typically host my sites on dedicated servers, but recently had a pro bono project fall into my lap and I came across their plans one day when shopping around for a shared host. The site has not launched yet, but so far GreenGeeks has provided very fast setup and support and I could not be happier." – .
Call me a TreeHugger – GreenGeeeks Rocks! "I was looking for a web hosting company for my business that specializes in selling "green" business cards that use recycled paper. I was actually shocked to see very little hosting companies doing the right thing and going green. I found GreenGeeks from the best green hosting section on this site and I have to say, I am very pleased with their customer care, technical support and reliability. I also love the fact that they are green! If you’re looking for a good hosting company and one that helps the environment, GreenGeeks is the hosting company you should go with." –
Conclusion: Is GreenGeeks a recommended host?
Personally, I’m pretty comfortable with the provided hosting environment. From my experience with their staffs, this hosting company is definitely equipped with the right personnel to get the job done. If you’re searching for an environment friendly web host and willing to test out some new brand in hosting industry – then yes, GreenGeeks is a go. After all, the company provide 30 days full money back guarantee – so there’s actually nothing much to lose.
